Watching last week's 20/20, I was intrigued by a segment on Steve Jobs. Carmine Gallo, author of The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs: How to Be Insanely Great in Front of Any Audience, shared the seven principles that contributed to Jobs' triumphs. Techniques that will work for anyone.

1. Do what you love, no matter what it happens to be. Passion is everything. Follow this passion and do work that excites you.
2. Put a dent in the universe. Have a big, bold, clear, concise vision. Jobs' vision was to put a computer in the hands of everyday people.
3. Say no to 1,000 things. You have to focus. Reduce the clutter. Make it simple. Streamline. In 1997, when Steve Jobs returned to Apple, the company was close to bankruptcy. He took 300 products that they developed and condensed them to 10. Eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak.
4. Kickstart your brain. Do something new. Embrace a broad set of experiences. Jobs found inspiration from visiting India, for example.
5. Sell dreams not products. Be innovative! Aim to fulfill hopes and ambitions.
6. Create insanely great experiences. Again, innovation! The Apple Store was inspired by The Four Seasons… no cashiers...
7. Master the message. You're judged by how well you communicate and present yourself. Get people excited about your idea!

YOUR TURN: Are you following any of these principles?
